One of the most common responses I get when I tell people that I bake for a living is, “Oh I’m a terrible baker.” and (I cannot stress this enough) I just DON’T BELIEVE THEM. I think they tried baking a couple times and something went wrong.
Cream Cheese! Peach! Streusel! Brioche! All really great words in their own right, but put them together and they are more than the sum of their parts. And you know us central Texans love a kolache moment. They’re just perfect.
I can’t stop buying cherries! My kitchen was close to being overrun with them so I did the only thing I could think of. I smothered them in butter and sugar and put them in a pie crust and baked them until the whole house smelled like heaven.
